"Just because we've been to prison doesn't mean we should be written off. Working Chance made me feel like a human being again."

Meet the team

Jocelyn Hillman Founder and Chief Executive, has had an international career in the management and strategic direction of communications across both the commercial and not-for-profit sectors.

Jocelyn created Working Chance because she saw first-hand the barriers to employment faced by women ex-offenders and the lack of coordinated support on offer to them on release.

Claire Howe Senior Recruitment Consultant, has 5 years of recruitment experience and brings her commercial expertise to a social issue. Since joining Working Chance in 2009 Claire has successfully placed a large volume of women into both voluntary and paid work, and increased the awareness of our services.

Raman Dhahan Recruitment Consultant joined Working Chance to run our Big Lottery funded Transitions programme in June 2010. Raman previously worked for a major High Street recruitment consultancy where she managed both public sector and commercial account in Central London.

Volunteers: We also have ongoing support from a bank of volunteers who give us varying amounts of their time. Our volunteers are from all walks of life ranging from serving and ex-offenders, professional women, retired professionals to recent graduates looking for work experience.

Patrons and Trustees: We have three excellent and high-profile patrons: Baroness Corston, Nicola Horlick and Jonathan Aitken, and a committed, talented board of trustees comprising: Peter Cox (Chair), Maddie Grindal, Karen Darby, Fiona Ash and Tessa Laws.

Supporters: As a charity all our work is dependent on donations and we are lucky to have many supporters who help us in many ways. For example through financial support, in-kind donations and pro bono work.

Last, but definitely not least, thank you to the employers who are making real change happen by giving women offenders a Working Chance.

Thank you everyone!!
